Testing in renmark!

A quick trip to Renmark for the weekend to test the car, van and coffee machine! After changing the wheel bearings, installing the bike rack and engel fridge we had our first opportunity to tow the van using the ute (Bruce). We found out that we don't need 3 spare blankets, extra esky, water container, craft jar and unused cutlery. These will make way for more tubs for clothes and sleeping bags and what ever Mel decides we need. Still undecided about the microwave? Glen = yes, Mel = no. Everything went well, no dramas. Towed really well. 104kmh at 2200 revs and very quiet.

This is how we look on the road!

Pimp my Van!!

For all those interested in our pimping (this excludes Mel) we added a few finishing touches to the van, including a bike rack (thanks to our friend Fletch) and a bit of artwork to acknowledge Glen's grandparents who passed away last year and contributed to the trip in a financial way. The ute (Bruce) and the Van (Nancy) were subsequently named after them! Extra brake/tail lights were required as the bikes obscured the left side from view. Other additions to Bruce have been a Tekonsha T3 electric brake system, 12 volt dual battery system, 12 volt auxillary in the tray with a switch in the dashboard of the ute, caddy canopy GSE L, and the accessories wire to the van was piggy backed off the Anderson plug. Also installed was a USB/12 volt connection in the van for free camping.
