Pimp my Van!!

For all those interested in our pimping (this excludes Mel) we added a few finishing touches to the van, including a bike rack (thanks to our friend Fletch) and a bit of artwork to acknowledge Glen's grandparents who passed away last year and contributed to the trip in a financial way. The ute (Bruce) and the Van (Nancy) were subsequently named after them! Extra brake/tail lights were required as the bikes obscured the left side from view. Other additions to Bruce have been a Tekonsha T3 electric brake system, 12 volt dual battery system, 12 volt auxillary in the tray with a switch in the dashboard of the ute, caddy canopy GSE L, and the accessories wire to the van was piggy backed off the Anderson plug. Also installed was a USB/12 volt connection in the van for free camping.

  1. loving the blog already. We are really envious and wish we could do t again with you!
I'd dump the microwave and the air con, all van parks usually have a camp kitchen complete with m/w. I'd be making sure you have a table fan to use, bit worried about the bikes, lot of work to unload and load every day when you stop overnight, however you need to weigh that up! Definitely take an extra clean water container 10 litre or so for clean water when you can get it, good clean drinking water can be hard to come by. Also don't overdo it on the clothes most of the time it will be hot hot hot so go easy on the winter stuff
