Not a great start to the trip, no DVD chargers, both indicator terminals on the van were not connecting and the sealed Anderson plug had lost connection with the wire all before we had driven out the gate. All fixed in just over an hour, then almost a head on with a STUPID truckie who didn't see the car in front of us when he overtook a caravan! Lucky the old bloke with the caravan delayed his heart attack for 30 seconds and pulled off the road to the left. A long day in the car, raining most of the way. Resting up in Port Augusta to get rid of this cold, a bit of pottering and reorganizing the ute and tightening the bearings on the van. We have already met some like minded people at the Van Park. The guy next to us is like our own personal Alby Mangles. A great guy who has done this trip 5 times before. He gave Mel some tips on making damper and she wants to take him with us to Darwin!
